They Sent Me Stuff! :D

And after only 12 days of writing about their fabulous fish tank toilet, and sending them my thoughts about how cool their website is, the guys at Stupididiotic.com sent me an envelope full of merchandise.  Check this out!

The pack contained:  Stupididiotic pills a.k.a fruity mints, half a dozen of stickers, one 3D sticker to stick on a car and one holographic sticker.

You know, I’ve read ‘Letters From A Nut‘ a million times, but only today I understand what effect made Ted L. Nancy got so addicted in writing to consumer product corporations, hotels, airlines even kings.  He sent his thoughts, praises and complaints to these companies and most of the time gets favorable replies or freebies!

These merchandise might seem like a silly promotional stuff, but to think that they actually took the effort in sending these out to people who write like me… makes it so sweet.   It makes you feel appreciated for giving them the appreciation.  It also proves that a nice sentence goes a long way.  And it’s one smart marketing move that should be set up as an example for us here in Indonesia, as we tend to dismiss the attentions given to us by customers and focusing more on the complaints.

So again, kudos to Stupidiotic.com for their brainy (not to mention ultra-cool) approach to silly praises!

And to my readers, do make yourself heard because somewhere out there…

…some people actually listen!

Morning Discovery

I was searching for Ed Westwick this morning when I came across this sexy cast picture of Gossip Girl.

Observe the new sexiness, the white, the guy on the bottom right (yes, my new crush named Ed Westwick a.k.a Chuck Bass, the anti-hero character in the show) and the whole idea of taking a picture of the cast lying on a huge huge bed.

Suddenly I got a déjà vu.

I’ve had a huge spat with a co-worker today and it’s suffice to say that my day was bad.  But hey, nothing cures bad days better than online-shopping.  Okay, window shopping if I’m sticking true to the ‘Not Buying It’ book.  But come on, wouldn’t you want to get your hands on this?

In the era of iPods and MP3 players, it’s cute to have something from the past to hold all your futuristic belongings.  Yeah. Those folks at PerpetualKid never cease to amaze me with their quirky stuff.  Lovin’ you all, guys!

“Ekselen” for “Excellent”?

I don’t understand the ‘Indonesianized’ English.  To me, personally, if one wants to write in English then one should write it properly.  And if one does not know what an English word means in Bahasa Indonesia, then one should buy oneself um… what’s that thing called again? Ah yes… a DICTIONARY.

Why can’t they just say ‘Menuju Kinerja Sempurna” and spare the embarrassment? Tsk.

Attention LIA, ILP, EEP, EF!  The folks at Jasa Marga need an intensive training and they need it FAST.

When It Rains

Jakarta is raining again. Hard and non-stop, this time.

I’m down and out on buying new sneakers, but also tired of ruining my precious precious flats. They’re too pretty!

And that is why I am wondering, why don’t they have these in Jakarta? Heck, if they do, I’d just buy a bunch. Maybe even decorate them with some fancy stickers. Come on, as silly as they look, these babies are da bomb. It might be a short way from the office entrance to the parking lot, but it’s a LONG grief when my Zara flats suffer from wreckage. So I guess I’ll just go over to their website and order one pack (contains 125 pairs). It’s kinda pricey at $59.95, but hey… my shoes deserve the best.

Whoever invented this is a genius. Seriously. Now, THIS is a right use for plastic.

Save The Plastic Bags, Save The World!

I am no environmentalist. Dude, I still smoke and drive a gasoline-powered car. But I’m trying to cut down paper use. Trying to not litter. And lately I’ve been trying to save electricity with any means possible. I know about the global warming although I really think the campaigns are overrated. And it’s so overrated that some geniuses at our local Carrefour Hypermarket decided to help save the environment without really knowing what to do. Why do I say so? Well they issued these so-called special edition shopping bags, as seen in its ITC Permata Hijau branch.
