From G’s To Gents: I LOVE THE SHOW!

In Entertainment, Giggle To This!, Junkie Session, Me Likey, TV Talk on January 8, 2009 at 6:07 am

Happy New Year everyone!

Okay so I’ve been really busy with work and stuff, but I have another confession to make.  I actually am becoming an addict of MTV.com.  Seriously, I’ve been watching trashy crappy shows like “Paris Hilton’s New BFF”, “My Super Sweet Sixteen” and stuff.  Talk about guilty pleasure.  Anyway, I finally found something share-worthy with all of you.  Now let me remind you, this is a full episode.  So if you have a slow internet connection, I think it kinda would take FOREVER to watch this.  But it’s really worth watching.

The show I’m talking about is “From G’s to Gents“, a show about how gangsta guys are trained inside a posh mansion, to be gentlemen and change their lives.  Hosted by the (maybe now ex) umbrella holder / personal assistant of P. Diddy’s, Fonzworth Bentley, this show is actually created by Jamie Foxx.  Uh huh.  The TRUE gentleman in da house.  But Mr. Foxx isn’t really in the show.  And that’s the only thing bumming me out.

This episode, to me is THE FUNNIEST!  As you know, gangsta boys don’t speak eloquently as gentlemen do.  So this episode is very ‘My Fair Lady’-ish, but no Audrey Hepburn cuteness.  Check out the class session and the battle session where they challenge each other up, talking about ART.  I couldn’t stop laughing.  Again, make sure your connection is fast and stable, peeps… I mean, people.  Happy watching!

If the video player doesn’t show, just click on the MTV link.  It’ll take you straight to the MTV website and you can watch from there too!

Dedicated to Grey’s Anatomy Lovers

In Entertainment, Giggle To This!, Me Likey, TV Talk, Video Post on December 5, 2008 at 5:48 am

The YOUTUBE FREAK strikes again!  And this time, it’s time to talk about Grey’s Anatomy.

I love the storyline, but I somewhat hate Meredith’s face.  This spoof by (the late) MADtv actually expresses how I feel about the show.

Think it’s nasty?  Well, how about mixin’ things up a bit?  Here’s Grey’s Anatomy’s cast meets McMeanie.  Who’s McMeanie?  See for yourself and be prepared to laugh like mad.

I can’t quite understand why they shut down MADtv.

Damn recession.

The Best Opening Credits Ever

In Entertainment, Me Likey, TV Talk, Video Post on September 25, 2008 at 5:29 am

Those Emmy judges are fools.  What’s with only 5 nominations and no Emmy for this?  Seriously.  Even the opening itself deserves an Emmy!!!

Need I say more?

Morning Discovery

In Entertainment, Image Post, Randomness, TV Talk on May 31, 2008 at 12:34 pm

I was searching for Ed Westwick this morning when I came across this sexy cast picture of Gossip Girl.

Observe the new sexiness, the white, the guy on the bottom right (yes, my new crush named Ed Westwick a.k.a Chuck Bass, the anti-hero character in the show) and the whole idea of taking a picture of the cast lying on a huge huge bed.

Suddenly I got a déjà vu.

My Love For Cable

In TV Talk on February 16, 2008 at 2:03 am

If there’s one thing I can’t miss for a day beside the morning and pre-bed phone calls from Mr. Boyfriend, it’s TV and I mean my beloved cable.

I’ve kinda given up on local TV for quite some time now.  The only things I watch on local TV are news (and put METRO TV on that, please) and that funny funny game show “Hole In The Wall”.  I’ve given up on the rest, well of course I’ll make an exception whenever Ms. Laura is on-screen, giving Indonesians a lesson on how to pronounce English words the right way.  She’s far more entertaining than Anton Hilman, Nisrina Nur Ubay or any “English” teachers ever aired in Indonesian television.

The May Lee Show: Maybe.

In Entertainment, Girl Talk, Image Post, Reviews, TV Talk on June 14, 2007 at 11:31 pm

May LeeI’ve watched The May Lee Show a couple of times now.  Love the concept, love the messages it sent and as an Asian woman, I really dig how the show tries to feature fantastic women from the region.  I really had high expectations seeing their promo on Star World.

As a viewer, I don’t feel very ‘entertained’ and often flick channels when things get really… s l o w.  I just feel that something is still missing from this show.  When I discussed this with some friends (none of them works for TV), they said May Lee has no personality.  I totally disagree.  She’s smart, knows what she’s talking about and obviously inspiring.  But her personality is very strong sometimes I think that she has to tone things down a little and be more relaxed.  I mean, she looks pretty ‘serious’ for a talkshow host… and the setting of the show isn’t meant to be Larry King-ish so she should lighten up a bit.

Sherman Pore, A Forgotten Gem

In Heartwarming, Mushy :), My American Idol Addiction, TV Talk, Video Post on May 26, 2007 at 1:12 am

It has always been my habit to look back on everything that had passed whenever a TV show ends its season. This time, I looked back on the recently ended American Idol and I realized that I haven’t said anything about a man named Sherman Pore. Been too busy bitching about the contestants and praising Melinda Doolittle too much, I forgot about the real winner of the show.

A Toast To An Excellent Finale

In Entertainment, My American Idol Addiction, TV Talk on May 25, 2007 at 11:53 am

After Melinda Doolittle and LaKisha Jones were eliminated from American Idol this season, I kinda lost interest in watching Blake and Jordin’s battle towards the throne.  And Jordin, as I predicted, won the title and the whole thing.

Woke up to an annoying morning Entertainment News on local TV and I suddenly feel like noting down my new and revamped definitions of certain vocabs in Indonesian showbiz.  Here goes…
