It’s Been Too Long…

Yeah I know it’s been too long since I last posted anything in here.  I’m kinda busy working and stuff, so I don’t really have any energy left to spill thoughts or whatevs.  I wanted to make a comeback as the 8th American Idol started, but it got delayed because of the workload -I ain’t complainin’, I’m just reportin’ here.  LOL.  And I was so pissed that Danny Gokey didn’t make the finals.  The Adam Lambert – Kris Allen finals reminds me a lot to the Jordin Sparks – Blake Lewis bruhaha.  Melinda Doolittle and Danny Gokey… I will love you both always.

Well enuf of ‘reality’ television shit, let’s get on to the thing that made me break my long hiatus.  It’s a string of videos featured on YouTube frontpage as of today, and they were posted by a super talented Malaysian girl, Zee Avi, or probably better known for her YouTube nickname: KokoKaina.  Zee is fantastic, and her first single is now available on iTunes.  Here’s one of her original songs that I now consider my favorite.  Enjoy, people 🙂

I think her voice has mixture of Billie Holiday’s ‘weight’, Doris Day’s friendliness and Eartha Kitt’s sultriness.  But that’s just me.  What about you?

From G’s To Gents: I LOVE THE SHOW!

Happy New Year everyone!

Okay so I’ve been really busy with work and stuff, but I have another confession to make.  I actually am becoming an addict of MTV.com.  Seriously, I’ve been watching trashy crappy shows like “Paris Hilton’s New BFF”, “My Super Sweet Sixteen” and stuff.  Talk about guilty pleasure.  Anyway, I finally found something share-worthy with all of you.  Now let me remind you, this is a full episode.  So if you have a slow internet connection, I think it kinda would take FOREVER to watch this.  But it’s really worth watching.

The show I’m talking about is “From G’s to Gents“, a show about how gangsta guys are trained inside a posh mansion, to be gentlemen and change their lives.  Hosted by the (maybe now ex) umbrella holder / personal assistant of P. Diddy’s, Fonzworth Bentley, this show is actually created by Jamie Foxx.  Uh huh.  The TRUE gentleman in da house.  But Mr. Foxx isn’t really in the show.  And that’s the only thing bumming me out.

This episode, to me is THE FUNNIEST!  As you know, gangsta boys don’t speak eloquently as gentlemen do.  So this episode is very ‘My Fair Lady’-ish, but no Audrey Hepburn cuteness.  Check out the class session and the battle session where they challenge each other up, talking about ART.  I couldn’t stop laughing.  Again, make sure your connection is fast and stable, peeps… I mean, people.  Happy watching!

I am still a teenage girl when it comes to love. And the severeness is easily measured up by how much of Johnny Mathis I listen to in a night of work. Call me corny, I don’t care. Call me old, well maybe I am getting old. All I know, tonight my heart is as young as a 16 year-old in love. And after only 12 days of writing about their fabulous fish tank toilet, and sending them my thoughts about how cool their website is, the guys at Stupididiotic.com sent me an envelope full of merchandise.  Check this out!

The pack contained:  Stupididiotic pills a.k.a fruity mints, half a dozen of stickers, one 3D sticker to stick on a car and one holographic sticker.

You know, I’ve read ‘Letters From A Nut‘ a million times, but only today I understand what effect made Ted L. Nancy got so addicted in writing to consumer product corporations, hotels, airlines even kings.  He sent his thoughts, praises and complaints to these companies and most of the time gets favorable replies or freebies!

These merchandise might seem like a silly promotional stuff, but to think that they actually took the effort in sending these out to people who write like me… makes it so sweet.   It makes you feel appreciated for giving them the appreciation.  It also proves that a nice sentence goes a long way.  And it’s one smart marketing move that should be set up as an example for us here in Indonesia, as we tend to dismiss the attentions given to us by customers and focusing more on the complaints.

So again, kudos to Stupidiotic.com for their brainy (not to mention ultra-cool) approach to silly praises!

And to my readers, do make yourself heard because somewhere out there…
