It’s Been Too Long…

In Me Likey, Musically Me, Video Post on May 20, 2009 at 6:36 am

Yo Wassaaaapppp!! Apa Kabar?

Yeah I know it’s been too long since I last posted anything in here.  I’m kinda busy working and stuff, so I don’t really have any energy left to spill thoughts or whatevs.  I wanted to make a comeback as the 8th American Idol started, but it got delayed because of the workload -I ain’t complainin’, I’m just reportin’ here.  LOL.  And I was so pissed that Danny Gokey didn’t make the finals.  The Adam Lambert – Kris Allen finals reminds me a lot to the Jordin Sparks – Blake Lewis bruhaha.  Melinda Doolittle and Danny Gokey… I will love you both always.

Well enuf of ‘reality’ television shit, let’s get on to the thing that made me break my long hiatus.  It’s a string of videos featured on YouTube frontpage as of today, and they were posted by a super talented Malaysian girl, Zee Avi, or probably better known for her YouTube nickname: KokoKaina.  Zee is fantastic, and her first single is now available on iTunes.  Here’s one of her original songs that I now consider my favorite.  Enjoy, people 🙂

I think her voice has mixture of Billie Holiday’s ‘weight’, Doris Day’s friendliness and Eartha Kitt’s sultriness.  But that’s just me.  What about you?

*ps. I sent Zee a message in YouTube. Hope she reads how much I dig her sound! 😀

They Got Me Under My Skin

In Celebrity Talk, Me Likey, Musically Me, Video Post on November 14, 2008 at 3:16 am

Months spent with the urban society have changed me, my preference in music and taste in male celebs.  From jazz to hip hop, from George Clooney to T.I., I am savoring the diversity and am enjoying one of the songs my friends disapprove of!  They are WHACK.  Dis song is cool as ice, so don’t y’all be hatin’.

T.I. my man, you’ll always have my heart… in fact, you can have whatever you like… LOL!

The World Is Awesome :D

In Amazing!, Heartwarming, Me Likey, Musically Me, Video Post on September 14, 2008 at 5:08 pm

Yes, it does make me want to break into this song.

And let’s sing the song!

I love the mountains
I love the clear blue skies
I love big bridges
I love when great whites fly.

I love the whole world
and all its sights and sounds

boom dee ya da, boom dee ya da, boom dee ya da, boom dee ya da

I love the ocean
I love the dirty things
I love to go fast
I love egyptian kings

I love the whole world
and all its craziness

boom dee ya da, boom dee ya da, boom dee ya da, boom dee ya da

I love tornados
I love arachanid
I love hot magma
I love the giant squids

I love the whole world
it’s such a brilliant place.

boom dee ya da, boom dee ya da, boom dee ya da, boom dee ya da
boom dee ya da, boom dee ya da, boom dee ya da, boom dee ya da

😀  I won’t mind having this song playing over and over in my head all day 😀

Smitten Kitten

In Me Likey, Mushy :), Musically Me, Video Post on July 30, 2008 at 4:35 am

I am still a teenage girl when it comes to love. And the severeness is easily measured up by how much of Johnny Mathis I listen to in a night of work. Call me corny, I don’t care. Call me old, well maybe I am getting old. All I know, tonight my heart is as young as a 16 year-old in love. I’ve posted quite enough mushy songs in my Indonesian blog, and now I would like to share the joy (maybe nausea to you, but who cares anyway) in this blog.

Bebe, this one’s for you too, and this should also be in the ultimate playlist 😉

Chances Are
Johnny Mathis

Chances are ’cause I wear a silly grin
The moment you come into view,
Chances are you think that I’m in love with you.
Just because my composure sort of slips
The moment that your lips meet mine,
Chances are you think my heart’s your Valentine.

In the magic of moonlight,
When I sigh, “Hold me close, dear,”
Chances are you believe the stars
That fill the skies are in my eyes.

Guess you feel you’ll always be
The one and only one for me
And, if you think you could,
Well, chances are your chances are awfully good.

A Song That Gave Me Chills Because It’s Friggin’ True!

In Amazing!, Me Likey, Musically Me, My American Idol Addiction, Randomness on April 4, 2008 at 12:56 am

Okay, I’m just gonna be brief in commenting Ramiele Malubay’s exit from American Idol:

At least it’s relieving to know she won’t get nationwide protest like Jasmine Trias did.

The most memorable thing about American Idol’s result show tonight is the mistake done by I don’t know whether it’s Seacrest or the graphic people behind the scene when Seacrest announced a caller’s question which didn’t match with what’s been put on the huge screen behind him. Aha. Guess Americans do make mistakes in major shows as well. But all is forgiven because I just want to point out the opening song that was like a stab in the stomach to me. Oh yeah, Dolly Parton, I never thought I’d say this… but Nine To Five is like… MY song especially for the moment!

Just read the lyrics and I bet my fine ass that I’m not the only one who feels this way most of the time. Yeah, even you who read this blog silently because you think it’s gonna ruin your reputation if anyone finds out about you reading this pile of fabulous junk. Don’t you think I don’t know you’re there, because I do, and thank your luck because I still let you.

Crazy About Kreyzie

In Entertainment, Musically Me on February 25, 2008 at 11:51 pm

Yes I am.

There’s a new cool band in town called Sister Duke.  I don’t even know they existed until this evening when my friend Mr. Egghead, a deejay at Hard Rock FM Jakarta, suggested that I listen to them.  I did, and I fell in love with the music there and then.

And as somebody who most probably won’t be able to attend the Java Jazz Festival 2008 *sob*, I think I’m just gonna listen to their CD.

Please check their MySpace profile here.  They’ll blow you away.

Trust me.

Baby On Board

In Me Likey, Musically Me, Video Post on October 29, 2007 at 5:42 pm

I’m still in my Simpsons craze, so in this rainy afternoon I’m listening to a very sunny song by Homer’s Barbershop Quartet (originally by the B-Sharps).  Since I don’t know HOW to put songs here, I luckily found a youtube video containing this very song although the scenes aren’t from the Simpsons, have a message to not drink and drive… but still hilarious nonetheless! HAHAHAHA!  Hope y’all like the song as much as I do.  Now quit the blabbing and start the singing.  And a one and a two and a three… Bum bum bum…

Baby on board, how I adore,
That sign on my car’s windowpane
Bounce in my step,
Loaded with pep,
‘Cause I’m drivin’ in the carpool lane.

Call me a square,
Friend, I don’t care.
That little yellow sign can’t be ignored
I’m telling you it’s mighty nice
Each trip’s a trip to paradise
With my baby on board.

A Thought On DJs’ Thoughts

In Imagination Gone Amok, Musically Me, Randomness, Silly Posts on June 17, 2007 at 3:54 pm

Ampun DiJeeee! This conversation happened somewhere in 2004 through MSN Messenger.

+  “So what do you do in your spare time?”
–  “Oh I go to clubs and DJ”
+  “REALLY?  You don’t sound like a DJ”
–  “What does a DJ sound like?”
+ “I don’t know.  Do you seriously DJ?”
–  “Yeah.”
+ “So what’s your stage name?  Do you have one?”
–  “Yeah I do.  It’s DJ B****M”

That DJ friend of mine and I are dating right now.  Haven’t seen him perform just yet, but I am indeed curious.

Annoying Song of The Day

In Daily Annoyance, Entertainment, Musically Me, Reviews, Sarcasm on June 12, 2007 at 2:41 pm

Have you ever heard something so mind-blowingly annoying?

Well I have, and am forced to listen for the past three days because it’s practically ear-fucking everybody nowadays whether they like it or not.

… Now that it’s raining more than ever
Know that we still have each other
You can stand under my Umbrella
You can stand under my Umbrella
(Ella ella eh eh eh)
Under my umbrella
(ella ella eh eh eh)
Under my umbrella
(ella ella eh eh eh)
Under my umbrella
(ella ella eh eh eh eh eh eh)

Hello songwriters everywhere! Come on dude, a voice like Rihanna’s, a look like her… man, she deserves MORE than just an ‘eh-eh-ehing’ sound in her song!
