It’s another rainy day in Jakarta.
But in my heart, there’s sunshine. I know it sounds so corny, but hey, I just can’t help it. I remembered the early stages of my relationship with this guy, and all I could do since three o’clock this afternoon is smile.
Next month, it will be a year since we first became ‘official’. Can’t believe that it’s been this long, yet I can still feel this mushy.
Baby, I wish you were here.
I can’t help to NOT put my two cents here about the recently-aired American Idol 2007. When I watched the first audition in Minneapolis, I thought Simon Cowell had gone moderately softer as he adressed almost every girl with ‘sweetheart’ and ‘darling’. The ‘Dawg’ Randy Jackson became sharper-tongued in his comments. As for Paula Abdul… nah, I don’t want to say anything about this woman. I have my own reasons, that if written here, would just be so very utterly rude inappropriate.
“Hey dude! Nice to meet ya again”
“Nice to meet ya too man. So you got into the guest list?”
“Uh huh”

I once got into a discussion with my darling about why God created good things and “allowed” bad things in this world and as I vaguely remember, this was how the discussion went:
“Why did God create poverty? Wouldn’t it be great if all the world’s residents are rich?”
“I think, baby, God is an artist”
“What do you mean?”
“You see, when you paint… there aren’t just red on the canvas. There are blue, white and a dash of black. If we analogize the bright colors as the good things in life and the dark colors as the bad things in life, if the two is put very tactfully in a huge canvas… they will make good harmony”
“I can see your point. But why?”
“Maybe the ‘why’ should be kept to ourselves because the objects can never read the artist’s mind. Like when you play the Sims, probably”
I’m not much of a clubber.
Well… that’s not entirely true.
I had my clubbing heyday when I was a wee bit younger. You know, being out after work… having dinner, pre-party cocktails and the next thing will be dancing on top of the bar, not knowing who got you there and such. Yeah. Can’t say I remember much because I just don’t. I didn’t do much on my party days. Just downing some booze, accepting drinking games challenges half-heartedly and had my share of alcohol in a very responsible manner for I was almost always the designated driver on the way home.
In short, I was a goodie-goodie when it comes to parties.
Right.
I’m over my so-called whirlwind. Like any other red-blooded girl, I did a lot of retail therapy, which -in my case- didn’t cost me a thing. I windowshopped online and visited tons of fashion blogs. Why blogs? It’s good to find honest reviews of what’s coming into the market and what’s gonna be hot in 2007. When visiting online stores, all I can do is curse because they sell stuff in US dollars and most don’t even recognize Indonesia as a country filled with people such as I that they won’t deliver any of their good goodies here. Damn political situations.
