Yo Wassaaaapppp!! Apa Kabar?

Yeah I know it’s been too long since I last posted anything in here.  I’m kinda busy working and stuff, so I don’t really have any energy left to spill thoughts or whatevs.  I wanted to make a comeback as the 8th American Idol started, but it got delayed because of the workload -I ain’t complainin’, I’m just reportin’ here.  LOL.  And I was so pissed that Danny Gokey didn’t make the finals.  The Adam Lambert – Kris Allen finals reminds me a lot to the Jordin Sparks – Blake Lewis bruhaha.  Melinda Doolittle and Danny Gokey… I will love you both always.

Well enuf of ‘reality’ television shit, let’s get on to the thing that made me break my long hiatus.  It’s a string of videos featured on YouTube frontpage as of today, and they were posted by a super talented Malaysian girl, Zee Avi, or probably better known for her YouTube nickname: KokoKaina.  Zee is fantastic, and her first single is now available on iTunes.  Here’s one of her original songs that I now consider my favorite.  Enjoy, people :)

I think her voice has mixture of Billie Holiday’s ‘weight’, Doris Day’s friendliness and Eartha Kitt’s sultriness.  But that’s just me.  What about you?

*ps. I sent Zee a message in YouTube. Hope she reads how much I dig her sound! :D

…is that I will never settle for mediocrity.

There I said it.

*and as luck would have it, I get stuck with mediocre minds almost all the time*

SMFH

I just couldn’t understand…

…how some people get pissed because they could not peek at some other people’s lives.
…how some people can be so freaking ignorant.
…how some people expects some people to be funny at all times.
…how some people thinks some people have no other lives beyond the internet.
…why they haven’t called. It’s sick. It’s like I’m a pre-teen girl waiting for a freaking call after a first date.
…why it’s been raining all the time these days.
…why I couldn’t find the desire to write in this blog -or in fact do ANYTHING- whenever it hits below 25°.

What I do understand is…

…that the American Idol season has begun and that means my Wednesdays and Thursdays are off limits.
…that I’ve forgotten how fun dancing can be!
…that I’m sick of Jakarta but stuck in it.
…the meaning of SMH. FINALLY! LOL!
…that I’ve been waiting for that call.  That VERY important call. *sigh*
…that I’m prepared to drop everything if I do get that call.
…that Plurk amuses me more than anything.

But what is beyond my comprehension is…

…it’s only the beginning of February and it already feels like a year have passed.

I’ve been hangin’ out in the real world too much. Or haven’t I? SMH.

Phew.

Happy New Year everyone!

Okay so I’ve been really busy with work and stuff, but I have another confession to make.  I actually am becoming an addict of MTV.com.  Seriously, I’ve been watching trashy crappy shows like “Paris Hilton’s New BFF”, “My Super Sweet Sixteen” and stuff.  Talk about guilty pleasure.  Anyway, I finally found something share-worthy with all of you.  Now let me remind you, this is a full episode.  So if you have a slow internet connection, I think it kinda would take FOREVER to watch this.  But it’s really worth watching.

The show I’m talking about is “From G’s to Gents“, a show about how gangsta guys are trained inside a posh mansion, to be gentlemen and change their lives.  Hosted by the (maybe now ex) umbrella holder / personal assistant of P. Diddy’s, Fonzworth Bentley, this show is actually created by Jamie Foxx.  Uh huh.  The TRUE gentleman in da house.  But Mr. Foxx isn’t really in the show.  And that’s the only thing bumming me out.

This episode, to me is THE FUNNIEST!  As you know, gangsta boys don’t speak eloquently as gentlemen do.  So this episode is very ‘My Fair Lady’-ish, but no Audrey Hepburn cuteness.  Check out the class session and the battle session where they challenge each other up, talking about ART.  I couldn’t stop laughing.  Again, make sure your connection is fast and stable, peeps… I mean, people.  Happy watching!

If the video player doesn’t show, just click on the MTV link.  It’ll take you straight to the MTV website and you can watch from there too!

The YOUTUBE FREAK strikes again!  And this time, it’s time to talk about Grey’s Anatomy.

I love the storyline, but I somewhat hate Meredith’s face.  This spoof by (the late) MADtv actually expresses how I feel about the show.

HAHAAHAKAKAKAHKAHKAHAKHKKKK!!!

Think it’s nasty?  Well, how about mixin’ things up a bit?  Here’s Grey’s Anatomy’s cast meets McMeanie.  Who’s McMeanie?  See for yourself and be prepared to laugh like mad.

Daaaaayyyuuuummmmmm!!!!

I can’t quite understand why they shut down MADtv.

Damn recession.

Disclaimer:  Call me a YouTube freak, I don’t care, because these days… aside from crappy TV, this is about the only form of entertainment closest to my reach.  I’m about to post another video containing only a song.

God knows I love this song, He might also know that I’m a bit obsessed.

I listened to all its version… from James Moody’s to Elliott Yamin’s, yet my smile is still wider than a clown’s when I found this version.  I never liked Amy Winehouse’s appearance with her huge conehead hair, but I gotta say… after listening to “Rehab” and “Love Is A Losing Game” over and over on the radio for the past year… and now THIS… I just gotta gotta gotta buy the CD and won’t allow anybody to touch it.

So to all jazz fans, here’s a funkier rendition of Moody’s Mood For Love.  Take it away, Wino!

My friend from the land down under sent me this video and until today, I can’t guess where this girl is really from and I’m still blown away with her ability to keep a straight face.  Check it out peeps!

Great eh? :D

*update: I ended up watching almost all of her videos on YouTube and fell in love with her talent!  Amy Walker is from the United States.  Check out her YouTube channel here, and her website here.  I am entertained!  Ms. Walker, you are fabulous :D

Months spent with the urban society have changed me, my preference in music and taste in male celebs.  From jazz to hip hop, from George Clooney to T.I., I am savoring the diversity and am enjoying one of the songs my friends disapprove of!  They are WHACK.  Dis song is cool as ice, so don’t y’all be hatin’.

T.I. my man, you’ll always have my heart… in fact, you can have whatever you like… LOL!

Amish Paradise

30Oct08

So I’ve been feeling a little bit Amish for the past week because Astro TV, my sucky satellite channels provider, suddenly said BYE to paying customers without any warning whatsoever.  I think they missed out on the SELAMETAN thing (or probably too cheap to have one) before they started their business here as they have been nothing but PISSING OFF their customers.  And while waiting for my Indovision to be installed, I’m left TV-less.  See that’s the reason why I missed last Thursday’s Amazing Race Asia.  And the premier of the newest Grey Anatomy’s season.  And a whole lot of other stuff.

Luckily I got a new toy named after a fruit that’s able to amuse me for hours (when not working, that is) as I don’t work in huge corporations.  I still remember vividly the looks on my bosses’ faces whenever theirs beep indicating there’s an important e-mail coming from God knows where and whenever.  To me my berry is a toy to help me get over stupid ASStro.

That’s the major downer of the week.  A lot of other stuff happened too and here they are in random order:
